Wearing glitter over age 35

topic posted Fri, April 11, 2008 - 11:17 AM by  Petra
....do any of you wear glitter as part of your dance costume/makeup and have personal guidelines about how much to wear or where to wear it? I am planning to add it to my dance makeup routine and I don't want to look like a 12-year-old fairy princess. lmao.
I'm thinking of just using it as an eyeliner and to accent tattoos.

I use Eye Kandy pretty regularly for eyes (and not just as eyeliner but sometimes as the entire shadow) and lips, and I've seen others use it to accent tatoos and henna designs. I also use very sparkly bindi arrangments. I've never seen anyone look like they're a 12 year old fairy princess but I can definitely see why you might be concerned - I guess as a society we tend to think that we "outgrow" sparkly, girly stuff as we get older. Ahh, but I love sparkly - one of my favorite colors.

Hell yeah! Eye Kandy - not loads of it but enough to make the eyes sparkly and other accents. Why dance if you can't sparkle? (okay, lots of reasons but dancing is a good excuse to sparkle...)

I'm 41 and I wear glitter almost every day, offstage as well as on. Of course, I wear a hell of a lot more for stage (I love my eye kandy--so much that I actually became a distributor), but I usually have glitter on as a shadow or over my regular eyeshadow. It makes me happy, and I always draw compliments on it.

Hell yes! My whole troope glitters like the sun - from the 10-year-old on up to us mature ladies. I actually think the eye-candy looks better on us 35+ dancers. The dancer of our troope who rocks the eye-candy best (in my opinion) is over 50. :)

glitter is acceptable at any age, as far as I'm concerned! I love to use the LUSH glitter bars for performing.. belly,. back tattoo, hands, neck...
anywhere there is skin, there is glitter. Shimmery skin... not 12-year old fairy princess, but Glowing Goddess. :)

Yes to glitter i am over 50 and still like to be a princess. Dont apply too solid an amount in a pale colour as can look weird under lights or in photos. Have a try and get someone to film you if you can.

Glitter eyeliners work really well layer up on black and re-apply. I also put glitter overcoat on nails and feet and spray in hair etc. Mind you i have a term called glitteritis for all male partners who get it on them. !
